Keeping your user Profile and MyPage up to date are quickest and best ways to control what information other users see about you, access invoices, add a signature to your forum posts, reduce registration times and help retrieve your password.

To access your user profile, select My Profile from the My Options menu located on the upper right side of the every page. Once you’re on your profile page you’ll see a series of tabs that will help you navigate your profile. The first tab you’ll be on when accessing your profile is the Profile tab; the Profile tab displays all of the personal information you have chosen to provide for your user profile. The information on this tab is linked to your My Page. The personal information on this page will also pull directly onto any registration forms, such as conference registrations, reducing the amount of information you have to reenter. To edit your profile, click the Edit Profile button to display the Edit Profile page. From here, you can update all of the fields in your profile, including:

  • Your username
  • Your personal information (e.g., name, address, contact information, etc.)
  • Add a signature that will appear on your postings on the site
  • Update your public email address. NOTE: to change your private email address, the address OHUG communications are sent to, please contact support at info@ohug.org instead of creating a new profile.

To change your profile's password, select Change Password from the Actions menu. Then, type a new password, re-type the password, and click OK.

The two other most helpful tabs on your profile are the Transactions tab and the Preferences tab. The Transactions tab lists any pending and completed transactions linked to your profile, allowing you to keep track of any past and present purchases, including items from the Online Store and any membership transactions. For each transaction, you can click the View Invoice button to view an online copy of the invoice.

On the Preferences tab, you can configure a few personal preferences for the Forum and Users modules. By clicking on the Forums module you can control options such as:

  • Sorting threads based on newest or oldest or oldest to newest
  • How many threads you’d like to view per page
  • Warning before leaving a post creation page
  • Marking topics as read

The Users module link allows you to enable Following by other users and set if you’d like notifications from your connections.

Keeping your profile up to date is a great step on the way to making your a super user.
